Why Learn Breathwork?

INCREASE THE QUALITY OF THE BREATH
FOCUS THE UNTAPPED POTENTIAL OF THE UNCONSCIOUS

Why Learn Breathwork?

It begins with something as simple as a breath

I believe that every living thing is a unique expression of consciousness. Humans have the distinct pleasure to be aware of this fact and as such, possess a precious & rare opportunity to explore the vastness of the infinite self.

“Breathwork” acts as a means for this inner exploration and allows us to access the raw power of the unconscious mind by occupying our conscious-mind with repetitive breathing patterns, rhythmic & ethereal soundscapes, and at times guided or silent meditations.

By itself, a regular regimen of breathwork has proven scientific health benefits. This includes things like, boosting the immune system, better respiratory functionality, decreased stress & anxiety, increase in vitality, sex drive, and much more.

Many people go through life without ever taking ‘manual control’ over their respiratory system and as a result, most healthy people rarely go beyond using 70% of their lung capacity[Source]. As we age, the decline in lung capacity increases. Considering that oxygen is our primary source of energy, a decline in lung capacity could express itself in a number of physical ailments.

Breathwork helps keep your lungs operating more efficiently for longer – giving you more energy and vitality.

How could you benefit from more energy and less stress? These are just a few reasons why Breathwork should be a critical part of your day.

Breathwork can release emotions stuck in the body

During breathwork sessions, it is possible to Experience Emotional Release. This can manifest in many different ways.

Prolonged repetitive breathing has a profound effect on our consciousness. Within only a few minutes, one can start experiencing a shift in awareness.

In as little as 10-15 minutes, some breathers begin to experience significant emotional releases which can manifest in different ways.

Some people may begin crying while processing buried grief or other painful experiences whereas others may experience a complete regression back to the wombs of their mothers or hysterical laughter. The experience is truly personal.

These ‘non-ordinary states’ of consciousness has a tremendous benefit in emotional healing and release work.

Whether you’re attending a group breathing session, going on a Somatic Breathwork Retreat or practicing in the comfort of your own home – understanding how to utilize the breath to access these states is like having a personal therapist on call 24/4.

Balance Conscious and Unconscious Processes

Using ‘intention’ while breathing and aligning both the conscious and the unconscious mind can lead to significant personal transformation.

Since breathing can both be expressed as an “Automatic” and “Manual” process – it acts as a deeper metaphor to our own lives.

Often times we find ourselves stuck in our minds whether we’re worried about the future or lost in a memory of times long gone.

The longer you stay in this “imaginary time” – the longer you sustain your current reality.

Unfortunately, most people aren’t even aware that they are living in the future or the past.

They are stuck in “automatic” just going through the motions of life – never truly living and always wondering why ‘something is missing’ in their lives.

This is because ‘something’ is missing. If you’re not actively engaging with your subconscious processes, there’s a whole part of you that’s left in the dark.

If you don’t deal with these unconscious expressions – they tend to manifest in different ways whether physical, emotional, relational, monetary, and much more.

It is this imbalance between the conscious will and the unconscious desire that is a root to many of our problems.

Through Breathwork, you can begin to integrate these two elements of one’s person – becoming greater than the sum of your parts.

When Combining breathwork and Deep Trance Identification – you can go beyond the limits of your own being.
